Water and desalination infrastructure
Projects such as the Taweelah reverse osmosis plant and Hassyan facilities use large-diameter Duplex and Super Duplex pipes that require precise cold cutting and beveling. Heat-producing methods are not permitted at operating desalination plants; G.B.C.’s mechanically driven machines produce no heat and no sparks, making them the technically correct choice. Custom tooling is often required to handle the specific wall thicknesses and material grades used in Gulf desalination pipework.
Power generation and nuclear
G.B.C.’s Boiler and Superboiler series are used for tube skinning and boiler tube preparation during turnarounds at gas-fired power plants and at facilities such as Barakah nuclear power station. Where standard tube range or machine geometry does not match the specific boiler configuration, G.B.C. engineers an adapted solution for the outage.
Shipbuilding and marine repair

All G.B.C. machines – standard and custom – cut mechanically, generating no heat and no sparks. In Gulf industrial environments, from live oil and gas plants to operating nuclear facilities and spark-sensitive petrochemical areas, this is frequently the only method approved for on-site pipe preparation without a Hot Work Permit.
